MakedoTell 2018 : Nepal

In January 2018 we will be spending all our time in Nepal;  returning to continue the work with some familiar communities and organisations, and starting up projects with new ones.

Our program has been developed in response to needs expressed by our co-workers in Nepal. We have been invited to provide our programs in cancer care, mental health (suicide prevention), in schools, and in higher education.  We will be working directly in the community, as well as training social and health care workers, community leaders and students in arts practice for community development and wellbeing.

Community leaders receive training so that skills and projects can be adapted, owned and run by, and within, particular communities.

Where in Nepal?

  • at the BS Koirala Cancer Centre in Chitwan where we spent a few days earlier this year running a program in the Paediatric Oncology Ward.   This time our stay will be longer.
  • at the Nepal School of Social Work.   Our sixth time at this school.   We expect to the working in the field with some of their students.
  • with a range of schools and communities in partnership with a new organisation (to us) PsychDesk, who are working hard to raise awareness and help prevent death by suicide.

So we are asking you, once again, to jump on board and support the work.

I’d love to! but how?

By donating!   We need to raise $7500 by 1 DECEMBER to make this project happen. You can support our work through a direct donation to Artists in Community International.  We have changed our payment method to save on administrative costs associated with crowd-sourcing sites.  You can do this though:

Bendigo Bank

BSB 633 000

Account : 135792174

Name : Artists in Community International (Anne Riggs and Alex Pinder)

(for those who have donated in the past : please note that this method means the donation will leave your account immediately)

How else can I help?

If you have been a regular donor to MakeDoTellthank you!   It is you and people like you who have made our projects happen.  Maybe if you have been donating the same amount each year you will consider raising your donation.

Can you help us by sharing the information about Artists in Community International and MakeDoTell 2018

by asking your friends and colleagues to make a donation?

If you have not been a regular donor – we invite you to become one!

The details again :
