This picture was created by students at the Padma School in Bhaktapur, who have had little or no arts training at all.
In our three day project with them we introduced them to Australian Indigenous Art and to the x-ray paintings where both the inside and outside of the animal is depicted.
It was an exercise in widening students’ view of the world and to other peoples. The x-ray art itself is a great example of showing students new ways of seeing. Student learn from these artworks, then create their own, showing the inside and the outside at the same time and bringing their own traditions and creative style to the new artwork.
